Sophie is from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and attended the University of North Florida. You can usually find her somewhere near the beach, especially on Sunday afternoons. She loves cooking, laughing, live music, salty hair, and a crowded table.
Q: If you could be anywhere else, right this minute, where would it be?
A: It’s 5 p.m., and I’m in my parents’ backyard in Santa Rosa Beach. Dinner will be ready in an hour. I’m still covered in sand from a full day at the beach. The Life by Kenny Chesney is playing in the background as I teach my little sister how to do handstands in the grass.
Q: When you were five, what job did you envision for yourself now?
A: Running a cafe called Sophie’s. I think my biggest dream at the time was to man a cash register.
